This chair is from the Jungle Room collection.
It was sold at the recent Vegas auction.
The catalogue describes: "Chair with carved wooden frame. Carving depicts open mouthed dragons on the arms of the chair. Cushion is brown and white striped fur. 30 x 38 inches. This chair, which was given to Col. Parker by Elvis, is identical to a chair that remains the Jungle Room at Graceland today."
Graceland is located on what was originally Highway 51. In Elvis’s lifetime, it was renamed Elvis Presley Boulevard.
The Graceland website now offers a virtual tour.
But what about the forbidden upstairs?!
Luckily in the movie THIS IS ELVIS, we are given a rare peak at the upstairs bedroom. But not the bathroom where he died.
You can also see U2’s tour of Graceland in the documentary RATTLE AND HUM.
And another rock and roll hero visited Elvis's home - Bruce Springsteen dropped by unexpectedly in 1976. Read about his experience at the gate "with the guitar players on front."
And on the web, many people have shared their photos of the Presley home. See links below.
